This 1 ? 3 years part-time course in Mechatronics is the study of engineering systems in which the technologies of mechanical equipment design and electronic controls come together. This forms a crucial part in the design, manufacture and maintenance of a wide range of modern engineering products and processes. An integrated approach to engineering by engineers and technicians is therefore required. Normal duration is 3 years for those without a HNC or one year for those who can demonstrate the prior knowledge and achievement of a HNC in Engineering.

Entry requirements

You should possess a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in an Engineering, Electronics or other relevant discipline or equivalent qualification. Mature students without these qualifications are welcome to apply.

Units you mat study include: Mechatronics A & B; Engineering Mathematics; Electrical & Electronic Principles; Individual Work-based Project; Further Engineering Mathematics and Quality Management.
