This 1-year part-time course is aimed at candidates who are following a Modern Apprenticeship and require evidence towards the underpinning knowledge of the NVQ 3 and do not have access to an NVQ but wish to pursue a career progression in the engineering industry and wish to develop skills learnt from the Certificate in Engineering 2800 Level 2.

Entry requirements

It is expected that you should have the Certificate in Engineering Level 2 or equivalent in order to complete the course of study.

What will I study?

You will follow Level 3 Certificate in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering and will study the following units over a two-year period: Working Effectively & Safely in an Engineering Environment; Engineering Principles & Practice; Principles of Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering; Turning; Milling and Computer Aided Design.

How will I be assessed?

Two of the units will be assessed by GOLA online tests; all other units will be assessed by practical tests backed up by underpinning knowledge assessments.

Career Opportunities & Progression

As stated this course is for candidates who are following a modern apprenticeship. Once the apprenticeship is completed, this course gives the complete level 3 qualifications in order to further your career in engineering.
